Streaming and torrents are harming the industry. We all know the music industry is being hurt by illegal uploads. How is the anime industry any different? It's logic here folks. Buy anime. Stop watching it on YouTube or JustDubs or whatever. Respect the industry. You aren't respecting it when you are aiding in the violation of their rights.

I can't cover my complete opinion by just cracking open the can of worms, but I can say that if simultaneous release was available MANY more people would support the proper channels. I'd like to see Manga put up for sale for the Kindle or another type of e-reader. The distribution costs would go way down, and readers would be more likely to pay up to .99 cents per volume, or maybe offer them for free weekly downloads from the publishers website that is plastered with ads??
The industry needs to get creative and grow with needed change. I'm not condoning thievery, just pointing out that people in general - suck. The industry is not going to guilt or hate people into buying their legit stuff... They need to give them better reasons to do so. Because as the world has proved, guilt and hate aren't working...
